Released in 2002, this is the overlooked B-side to Smith N’ Hack’s chugging remix of ’Moving Like A Train’ by Herbert. Belter.

Cheers to Pro Vinylist Karim for correcting me on the year of release too ;)

People sometimes ask us the question -

What is Northern Soul?

Well, Northern Soul is soul recordings with an up-tempo beat from American cities like Detroit and Chicago. The phrase was coined by journalist Dave Godin sometime around 1971 in his Blues and Soul magazine column. He was referring to the difference in the music played in the Southern and Northern Soul clubs of England. The first Northern Soul club which defined the Northern Soul sound was the Twisted Wheel Club among the others were the Torch in Stoke on Trent, Wigan Casino, and the Blackpool Mecca.

So, with that cleared up, here is a new Northern Soul Tamla Mix for your ears.

Just click Marvin to stream and download.

New one to bring in Spring!

A DOSE OF DISCO A DAY

The A side is the side that really gets things going on the dancefloor, but the B side is just as good to put a smile on your face. A true classic from 78.

Martin Circus - Disco Circus (Special Mix)

A DOSE OF DISCO A DAY

Originally came out in ‘78, and was still such a big underground NY record by ‘82 - ‘84.

Also a lot of different versions of this out on various labels, this is the version I have on vinyl and play.
